Orange Shirt Day - Mother Lode - We Are Still Here

Join Indigenous families & caring supporters from across the Central Sierra to remember the 200,000+ children, who were victims & survivors of the Indian Boarding School System. Photo Exhibition, Native Dancers, Drummers & Storytellers. Tribal Leaders to speak. Guest speakers are Julia Parker, 95-year old Boarding School survivor & Nationally awarded Indian Basketweaver, joined by Mary Youngblood, whose life was impacted by her mother's Boarding School trauma. Youngblood is a Grammy-Award Winning Native Flute artist. 2-4PM Family time with kids' crafts. 4-6pm respectful memorial service. This Memorial Commemoration is presented by Tuolumne County's two local federally recognized Tribal Nations & descendants of Boarding School survivors.
