As part of the farmers market finale, the second annual Historic Downtown Sonora Walking Tours will be open to the public. These tours will start at the Farmer’s Market lot, at Theall and Stewart Street.
Plan to stop by the market first, then join in on the downtown tour.
This is a walking tour, so wear comfortable shoes. Tour guides will take you on a walk through the streets of downtown Sonora and have you go back in time, when the city was dirt roads and horses were the main mode of transportation. When people had to pump their water from wells blocks away from their homes, when grain had to be ground up just to make bread.
These tours are open to all ages and can accommodate wheelchairs and strollers.
The tours are on a first come first serve basis and you need to make reservations by calling Sheala Wilkinson, Special Programs Coordinator for the City of Sonora at (209) 532-7725 or by email at swilkinson@sonoraca.com. Space is limited.
