Special Opening Weekend Festivities April 1st and 2nd. The historic 1265 diesel engine will be operating all weekend and excursion train ride departures for both days are scheduled for 10:30 am, 12 pm, 1:30 pm and 3:00 pm. To add to the excitement, Engine Group 49 will be displaying vintage gas-powered equipment at the Park during this opening weekend.
Weekend train ride guests will enjoy a memorable six-mile, 45 minute round trip ride along the rails of the famous "Movie Railroad", including past the iconic water tank seen in "Petticoat Junction", a popular TV show that aired in the 60's and 70's. The Park will also be open for self-guided tours and exhibits and will include interpretive signage. Excursion trains, programs, and activities will continue throughout the year.
