No reservation is required to go into the Hetch Hetchy area of Yosemite National Park. Arrive early; parking is limited!
Hetch Hetchy Reservoir is a mecca of recreation in Yosemite. Backpacking, bird watching, fishing, and hiking. Hetch Hetchy has one of the longest hiking seasons of any of the park attractions due to its relatively low elevation. If you are up for a bit of a hike, 5 miles round trip, Wapama Fall is a spectacular site. If you are up for a bigger challenge, hike the 16 mile round trip trail with 3,300 feet in elevation gain to reach Smith Peak. It is the highest point on the Tuolumne side of the park and offers unparalleled views of the park. There are also several shorter and easier hikes to enjoy the flowers and wildlife of the area.
