Preserving Native Grasslands and California's Newest State Park

Join us at Faith Hall, Church of the 49ers, for a potluck and evening presentation with Heather Reith and Paige Haller to discover some of the ways that California State Parks are saving vanishing habitats. Heather Reith, Natural Resource Manager, will talk about restoring vernal pools, protecting rare and endangered plants and animals, while highlighting plans for future visitor facilities. Paige Haller, Sector Manager for five park units including Great Valley Grasslands and Dos Rios State Park, will talk about the creation of the park and opportunities to visit and explore. Great Valley Grasslands State Park preserves some of the last remaining native grasslands in the Central Valley while Dos Rio State Park, our newest park, is at the confluence of the Tuolumne and San Joaquin Rivers. Preserving this floodplain is key to saving habitat for protected species and migrating birds. Potluck starts 5:30 PM with Presentation at 6:30 PM.
