Visit Tuolumne County Tourism Awards

The 2025 Tourism Summit Awards will recognize individuals and organizations whose leadership efforts have significantly impacted the travel and tourism industry in Tuolumne County.  


Nominations for the three awards are open July 1-August 1, 2025. Awards will be presented at the annual Tourism Summit on October 16, 2025.

Winners will be notified in September and publicly announced and awarded at the Visit Tuolumne County Tourism Summit in October.  


AWARD CATEGORIES

Tourism Advocate Award (Nominated by Community)

Honors an individual, business, or organization that has made a significant impact on Tuolumne County’s tourism industry through leadership, advocacy, and dedication to growing tourism as a vital part of the local economy. This advocate demonstrates collaboration, initiative, and an ongoing commitment to promoting the destination.

Eligibility Criteria:

  • Must be an individual, organization, or business that has demonstrated outstanding dedication to promoting tourism in Tuolumne County.
  • Can include local leaders, business owners, nonprofit organizations, or government officials actively supporting the tourism industry.
  • Must have significantly contributed to tourism growth, marketing, advocacy, or policy improvements that benefit the destination.


Spirit of Tuolumne County Award (Nominated by Community)

Recognizes someone who truly embodies the essence and heart of Tuolumne County. This person represents the county’s heritage, community values, and welcoming spirit, inspiring both locals and visitors through their passion, positivity, and pride in the region.

Eligibility Criteria:

  • Open to individuals, nonprofits, or businesses that contribute to the betterment of Tuolumne County through tourism-related efforts.
  • Must demonstrate community involvement, volunteerism, or initiatives that enhance the visitor experience or preserve local culture and heritage.
  • Can include individuals who embody the welcoming spirit of Tuolumne County and go above and beyond to assist visitors.


Front Line Hospitality Champion Award (Nominated by Hospitality Industry Peers)

Celebrate a front-line employee who goes above and beyond to deliver outstanding hospitality. Whether at a hotel, restaurant, or attraction, this champion creates memorable guest experiences, displays professionalism, and contributes to Tuolumne County’s reputation as a warm and inviting destination.

Eligibility Criteria:

  • Open to frontline hospitality workers (hotel staff, restaurant servers, tour guides, retail employees, visitor center staff, etc.) who provide exceptional service to visitors.
  • Must have at least one year of experience in the Tuolumne County tourism and hospitality industry.
  • Must be nominated by an employer, coworker, or industry peer.
  • Demonstrates a welcoming attitude, outstanding customer service, and a commitment to excellence.


Selection Process:

Submit nominations with form below.

A review panel of industry representatives and VTC Board of Directors and staff will evaluate nominees based on a scoring sheet.

The winner is determined by a combination of peer votes and panel review.
