Railtown 1897 State Historic Park

State Parks: Known as “The Movie Railroad,” Railtown and its trains have been featured in hundreds of movies and TV shows. The 26-acre Historic Park offers seasonal steam train rides and special events, plus daily roundhouse and movie prop tours and a gift shop.
Wedding Venue: The Historic Shops of the Sierra Railway offer an unparalleled backdrop to your event, and our rates are very affordable.

Weddings, birthdays, family reunions, fundraisers, and community events—we’ve done it all. Our shaded picnic grounds and grand BBQ pit, can accommodate up to 250 with existing furniture.

Or how about renting a private car for your wedding or other event? Rates start as low as $250 for private use of the caboose on a scheduled train, $825 for the first class car or bar car. Rates for chartering an entire train start at $1,800.

More information on weddings, prices, and available locations can be found in this PDF (must have Adobe Reader installed).

For more information on planning an event that you’ll remember for a lifetime, make an appointment with event staff. Call 209-984-8703 or email railtownnews@parks.ca.gov
Pet Friendly: Pets are permitted on the grounds and on board the trains. Pets are required to keep their owners on a 6 foot leash at all times. We ask that dogs onboard the trains take the window seat. They like it better that way, and its easier on our train crew when they pass through the cars.
