By Katie Kirkland | 04/08/2020 | Community

“Even in the depths of this challenge, we are inspired daily by this community and so many our local businesses that have creatively found ways to keep business going and to serve our community. Once again, in the face of adversity, Tuolumne County shines!” -Visit Tuolumne County. Community is what holds us together in these challenging times and Tuolumne County has come together to support each other. Take a look at some of our local businesses that are helping to bring TUOLUMNE TOGETHER.

“It is tough times for everyone, let’s stay positive and help out our community!”- The Service Station.  Many local restaurants including, The Service Station, the Standard Pour, Black Oak Casino Resort, Chicken Ranch Casino and more have made the decision to temporarily shut down and donate their food to local food banks and charity organizations. Through these generous donations, Tuolumne County’s local food banks and charity organizations have been able to feed many Tuolumne County residents in need.

“We’re not happy about the situation, but we’re proud that we can do something here that could possibly save tens of thousands of lives.”- Kinematic Automation. This local company is building machines that will help in the global battle against COVID-19. Founded in 1980 Kinematic Automation specializes in building equipment for manufacturing medical testing supplies. Most recently they were contacted by Hologic Inc., a medical technology company based in Massachusetts, to assist in building a machine that will manufacture COVID-19 test kits. The kits manufactured can produce results in less than three hours and there are plans to produce 600,000 of them a month starting in April.

Our community is only as strong as its weakest members.”- Echo Adventures Cooperative. Taking care of their small Groveland community Echo Adventures Cooperative is providing errand and grocery services. With every paid service they are donating a service to a community member in need. But they didn’t stop there, they rallied local businesses like the Groveland Hotel to donate food to help feed the local homeless population.

“We are a strong community and we will get through this together by taking care of one another.”-Addictions BoutiqueBe stylish and help put food on someone’s table with Addictions Boutique as they donate a portion of their sales to families in the community. They understand that many families have not received benefits yet and are struggling during these challenging times. They will be purchasing grocery gift cards and connecting with local schools to see where they are most needed.
